New world anti-record: in India 96.5 thousand cases per day

The previous anti-record was noted on Thursday and amounted to 95,735 cases.

The mortality rate in the country remains

relatively low, but has a tendencyto increase: over the last ten days, more than a thousand deaths have been recorded daily. According to the ministry, 1,209 people died from COVID-19 on Thursday, bringing the total death toll in India to 76,271. This is the third place in the world after the USA and Brazil.

India has remained the world leader in daily infections since August 4. This country ranks second in the world in terms of the total number of infected people, second only to the United States (6,397,227). 

According to the department, treatment in India is undergoing943 480 patients, 3542 663 people recovered. The largest number of infected people was noted in the states of Maharashtra (990 795 cases), Andhra Pradesh (537 687), Tamil Nadu (486 052).

According to Johns Hopkins University,The global infection rate has exceeded 28 million people, and the number of deaths from coronavirus as of Friday morning was 909 479 people.
