Norway will allocate $ 7 million for the training of technical personnel for the fifth generation fighter F-35 Lightning II

The Norwegian authorities plan to allocate additional funding for training staff who will deal with

maintenance of fifth-generation fighters F-35 Lightning II. The Scandinavian country, like other European F-35 operators, suffers from a shortage of highly qualified personnel.

What is known

Norway has ordered 52 fifth-generation fighter jetsin the amount of almost $ 8.5 billion. The aircraft are deployed at the bases "Erland" (Ørland) and "Evenes" (Evenes). After the closure of the Bodø base, the Norwegian Air Force began to suffer from a shortage of mechanics.

In total, the Department of Defense plansspend $7 million to solve the problem. $5.6 million of this amount will be used to ensure a sufficient number of technical specialists. Another $1.4 million will be invested in a school for staff training.

At the moment, Norway solves the shortage of personnelby hiring technical staff from Lockheed Matin and Kongsberg Aviation Maintenance Services. By 2023, more than $3.6 million has been allocated for this.
