The U.S. government has allowed Norway to sell F-16 Fighting Falcon fighters.
What is known
At the end of last year, Romania signed a contractwith Norway for the purchase of 32 aircraft of the fourth generation. The deal amounted to €388 million ($418 million). The fighter jets will undergo maintenance before being sent out.
Earlier, the Scandinavian country ruled out the possibility of canceling the agreement to provide the F-16 to Ukraine. This was announced at the end of last month by Jonas Gahr Store, Prime Minister of Norway.

Romania, thanks to the F-16, will be able to withdraw fromoperation of the Soviet aircraft MiG-21. At the same time, Norway retired its last F-16s last year. They will be replaced by fifth-generation F-35 Lightning II fighters.
If we talk about assistance to Ukraine, in theory Norwayhave something to offer. The Scandinavian country has identified 57 F-16s as available for sale. The buyer of 12 fighters was Draken Internation, but deliveries have not yet been completed.
