What is known

UAE in December 2021 ordered 12 multi-purposeH225M Caracal helicopters. The estimated amount of the transaction was €750-800 million ($820-880 million). A year and a half later, the contract was terminated due to high life cycle costs and limitations in adapting to future missions.

Muammar Abdullah Abushehab stated that the decision wasadopted solely for reasons of economy and in connection with the technical limitations of helicopters, and not for political reasons. The official added that the French giant "had no serious motivation" to respond to the demands to bring the H225M into line with the criteria. Airbus does not comment on the information.
