Genius Ring Presenter review: the ring of omnipotence

</ img>

The Genius Ring Presenter is a presentation remote and mouse rolled into one. More precisely, in one ring,

because this is what the device looks like andis worn. This is not the first such experiment by Genius in the field of manipulators. We have previously introduced you to the Genius Ring Mouse. I believe that our attentive readers appreciated the exoticism of the device even at the time of its presentation. And in this micro-review we will look at how easy the gadget is to use.

The image below will illustrate better than any wordscommercially available colors. We had a copy in the "gold" color on our review. Live Genius Ring Presenter looks budgetary: the plastic is cheap, but in the place where the ring is put on the finger it has a pleasant texture. When you press the keys (and any place on the front panel) the ring creaks, hinting at the assembly flaws. The "gold" part of the bezel gleams, while the rest of the white plastic is matte. There is one hole on the case - microUSB. Next to it is a laser (serves as a pointer), and on the left side there is a three-position slider. Five controls found their place on the colored panel.

Despite the possibility of using asmouse, Genius Ring Presenter does not completely replace it in work. So, for example, if you need to process a photo or prepare a presentation, then it will only get in the way, despite the fact that its sensitivity is easily adjustable in the settings. It's just inconvenient and that's it - to move the cursor with just one finger. Moreover, the accuracy of the device is not perfect. Therefore, the gadget will take over the functions of a mouse only if you are just preparing for a presentation, opening the necessary files, etc. But as a remote control for presentation, Genius Ring Presenter is just fine (if you don't take into account the creaking of buttons under your fingers. It fits comfortably under your thumb, can always be at hand (more precisely on your hand) and at the same time do not interfere.

To put the manipulator into presenter mode, you need to drag the slider on the left side of the gadget to the "P" mark. Then the transparent stripe on the front of the device will glow with a blue light, and the presenter functions will become available. Below are two screenshots showing the Genius Ring Presenter key functions for both modes. You cannot change them, you can only change the sensitivity. Perhaps for someone this will become a problem, but it seemed to me that in the presenter mode everything is already optimally thought out, and the mouse will not save anything. Here is the only thing that I have not been able to find out whether it will be convenient to work with the device for a left-handed person with this arrangement of keys. But I suppose you can get used to it.

The delivery set of the device includes a disc with software, documents, microUSB-cable for charging, nano-receiver (operates at 2.4 GHz) and carrying case. The case is tiny, just like the gadget itself. It won't eat a lot of precious space on the road, but it will turn out to be terribly useful, because otherwise the receiver will have nowhere to remove so as not to lose it.

But the device is sold in this box

The issue price is 350 UAH. As a presenter, the thing is really handy. Given that it is designed for a business audience, the only drawback of the device is its cheap look. From afar, of course, this is not as noticeable as when the device is in your hands.
