Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 + review: the same iPad Pro only on Android

Yesterday Samsung introduced the Galaxy Tab S7+. It must be said that many manufacturers have tried to surpass the iPad, but none

one of them was not so persistent as to quitchallenging Apple's dominance in tablets like Samsung's. The all-new Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ is definitely the Korean company's best attempt so far.

Galaxy Tab S7 + review

At first glance, the Galaxy Tab S7 + has it all: stunning design, 5G connectivity, a gorgeous and super-smooth 120Hz display, a top-notch processor, a functional S Pen with less lag, and finally, an interface specially designed to boost productivity. And now it is now closer than ever to becoming a legendary laptop replacement.

Fortunately, positive impressions do not disappearafter you have used the tablet for a while. Moreover, the Tab S7+ becomes an even more attractive device. The list of available features far outweighs the single, but rather large, problem we have with the Tab S7+: it's too big, and this hardware configuration is only available in that size — The smaller Tab S7 isn't as impressive as the Tab S7+. Plus, the Galaxy Tab S7+ is the best Android tablet so far.

Should you buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 +?

Design

Galaxy Tab S7 + is beautifully built, with a sleek backa frosted glass panel that feels good to the touch and sharp edges that look a lot like what we've seen on the iPad Pro. The sharp bezel does look good, but it's not the most comfortable shape for long-term use. The overall impression is interrupted by only four speakers with AKG tuning and a pair of antenna lines. The clear lines on the back are interrupted only by a glossy strip on the side, which is used to magnetically mount and charge the S Pen. Ultra slim and light for its size, the Tab S7 + is very well designed.

It takes some getting used to the size. The Galaxy Tab S7 + is a big-big tablet, and it takes a while to get used to its sheer size. But you cannot have the characteristics of the Tab S7 + in any other size, as the smaller Tab S7 is technically a different device with an LCD display and more modest hardware. So if you want the very best, you'll have to settle for the large Tab S7 +.

Display

Galaxy Tab S7 + is equipped with a 12.4-inchAMOLED display with rich colors and excellent sharpness. The display is probably the biggest selling point here, and while the iPad Pro also has a pretty display, it's an LCD; with the Tab S7 +, you have richer and more exciting colors.

Another nice feature — supportrefresh rate 120 Hz. The high refresh rate on such a large and bright display is really impressive, but it does drain the battery a little faster. However, it's worth it.

Such a large and exceptional display is good for just about anything, be it gaming, scrolling tables, or consuming media.

Galaxy Tab S7 + Specifications

With the Snapdragon 865+ chipset, the tablet always hasperformance reserve. Combined with a high refresh rate display and an optimized One UI, this tablet vastly outperforms its predecessors in terms of perceived responsiveness. It's arguably the fastest Android tablet ever, and aside from synthetic benchmarks, there is little to no performance difference over the latest iPad Pro.

The amount of RAM is 6 GB or 8 GB. We've got phones with 12GB of RAM these days, but if you're multitasking it doesn't really matter. However, given that the Tab S7 + is priced above average, 8GB of RAM in the base version and 12GB would be a much more attractive choice for power users.

What makes the Tab S7 + extremely promising,so this is 5G support on board. Just insert your SIM card into the tray and you can enjoy the ultra-fast connection speed of 5G technology right at your fingertips.

Interface and performance

In the Tab S7 +, Samsung introduced quite a fewnew features to improve productivity. A new and improved multi-active window allows you to open and use up to three applications at the same time. You can save your favorite app combination with a pair of apps and run all three apps at the same time. If that's not enough, the Tab S7 + also has an Edge screen similar to Galaxy phones for quick access to apps.

DeX mode is also present, offeringa desktop-like interface. The Dex hasn't received any significant new features and is very similar to what you can get in the Galaxy Note series or previous Samsung tablets.

The S Pen has also been significantly improved with reduceda delay that uses a display refresh rate of 120 Hz. The annoying lag that was on previous Samsung tablets is now gone. The S Pen has also been redesigned to fit better in the hand. The button is also easier to find without looking.

Thanks to Air Actions you can also controlTab S7+ using the S Pen from a short distance. You can create quick actions such as Back, Home, Recent, Smart Select, and Screen Record.

Samsung Notes — another updatedan app that comes with a host of useful new features like cloud synchronization and note sharing that let you access all your notes, lists, and drawings from any compatible PC, phone, or other Samsung tablet. What's more, the app is optimized for larger screens and seems to handle the important note-taking features more professionally. There's even a folder structure to help you organize your notes in a professional manner.

Battery

Under frosted glass at the back of the Tab S7 +there is a huge 10,090 mAh battery and it will last all day, all things considered. You can expect about 7 and a half hours of web browsing, 6 hours and 45 minutes of media use, and almost 10 hours of gaming. If you leave the 120Hz display option enabled, expect less.

What's even more impressive is the supportsuperfast charging 45W on board. You'll have to splurge on a super-fast charger, though: there's a 10W charger in the box that charges the Tab S7 + in 178 minutes, or 2 hours 58 minutes. It's definitely slower than what you get from a faster charger.

Camera

On the back of the tablet there is a doublecamera. Main camera — 13 MP, complemented by an ultra-wide-angle 5 MP. The new product takes decent photos that are certainly usable, but let's be honest, you're not going to use this large tablet for regular shooting. However, if you do, the Tab S7+ will greet you with the same interface and features as the latest S20 series. For example, there is a Single Take function that allows you to simultaneously take videos and photos of important moments in your life.

Video calls — this is another topic and SamsungDelivered a very good 8-megapixel selfie camera with lots of detail and good dynamic range. This is very useful for video calls. Samsung is well aware of this and has placed the selfie camera on the long side of the tablet, which would make the viewing angle more attractive when you use the tablet in landscape mode.
