A poll by Kaspersky Lab showed that people are ready to become cyborgs

As humanity moves further toward the technological revolution, there are many

opportunities to change the way our bodies work.

Opinium Research Survey Covered by14,500 people in 16 countries, including the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain, showed that 63% of people would consider augmenting their bodies — increasing their size and strength — with technology. In fact, humans are ready to become cyborgs - biological organisms that contain mechanical or electronic components. However, in different European countries, the data varies.

In the UK, France and Switzerland, support for augmentation was low at only 25%, 32% and 36%, respectively, while in Portugal and Spain it was much higher at 60% in both cases.

“Human augmentation is one of the mostsignificant technological trends today, ”said Marco Preuss, European director of global research and analysis at the Moscow-based cybersecurity firm Kaspersky. "Augmentation enthusiasts are already testing the limits of what is possible, but we need common standards to ensure that augmentation reaches its full potential while minimizing risk."

Last month a neuroscience startupBillionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk's Neuralink introduced a pig named Gertrude with a coin-sized computer chip in its brain for two months, demonstrating an early step towards the goal of curing human diseases with the same type of implant.

The survey showed that most people wantedso that any human augmentation works for the benefit of humanity, although the respondents had concerns about the safety for society and vulnerability to hackers.

The survey also showed that the majority believe that only the rich will be able to access the technology of human augmentation.
