The young part of the Australian population is very concerned about environmental issues. 59% of 227 respondents expressed concern about the environmental impact of livestock farms.

More than 70% of respondents were not ready to switch toartificial meat and considered it less attractive than plant-based counterparts of meat dishes. About 17% of the Zoomers did not want to give up meat in principle and switch to any of its other analogues, another 35% believed that it was possible to switch to soy meat analogues, and 11% and 9% preferred to eat only plant products or even insects.

Only 28% of Gen Z members believe that growing alternative meat is acceptable if they can master this technology so that it does not harm either animals or nature.

About 40% of all study participantsbelieved that in the future it could become a full-fledged alternative to conventional meat products. Skepticism and rejection among survey participants were linked to several different economic and psychological factors, the researchers said.
