ECHO, ECHO DOT AND ECHO DOT with clock

Amazon revamps Echo with new spherical design and custom processor

machine learning.

Amazon has announced a version of its corethe fourth generation Echo smart speaker with a new spherical design and improved sonic performance. But the biggest change is the new on-device speech recognition engine, which will process audio locally in Echo, fulfilling your requests faster than ever before.

Another great addition to the new Echo iswhat Amazon calls the AZ1 Neural Edge silicon module, which will process the audio of a user's voice requests using local machine learning speech recognition algorithms before sending the command to the cloud. This process promises to save hundreds of milliseconds in device response time.

Amazon says the new Echo will combineimagine the third generation Echo features. The Echo Plus will have built-in Zigbee smart home control in addition to working with Amazon Sidewalk, the company's on-premises network system.

The Echo will be available in three colors: Charcoal, Chalk and Steel Blue and will go on sale on October 22nd. Pre-orders are already open on Amazon, the cost of new items is $ 99.

Amazon also unveiled a new lookthe smaller Echo Dot ($ 49.99) and the Echo Dot with Clock ($ 59.99). They are available for pre-order today. And the new designs for the Echo Dot Kids Edition with panda and tiger art will cost $ 59.99. They are also available for pre-order today. The watch model will go on sale from November 5th. Amazon Echo Show 10 Smart Display

Amazon just announced the latest releaseits flagship smart display — the new Echo Show 10. The new model has a number of changes and updates from the previous generation, but the most important thing is its movement.

Instead of being fixed in oneposition as in every previous Echo Show model, the new Echo Show 10 display is mounted on a motorized base that automatically rotates with each interaction with the device. Using a combination of computer vision and echolocation technology, the Echo Show 10 can sense where you are in a room and rotate towards you to keep the screen in your field of vision.

Additionally, Echo Show 10 digital panningand zoom in on the new 13MP camera so you're always in the frame during video calls. Amazon's device has the added ability to pan the screen itself and doesn't have to rely on digital zooming.

It's worth noting that the Echo Show 10 does not mimic a robot's personality. Even though it moves, it is essentially still an Echo with Alexa as its digital assistant and the usual features on its display.

Echo Show 10 uses computer vision to determine where a person is in a room, then combines that with audio-based location when you say “Alexa.”

Amazon says it uses the image tocreating data points that represent the shape, edges, and overall coloring of an object, and then the image is immediately deleted. Unlike Google's Nest Hub Max, which can identify a specific person with its camera, Show 10 doesn't use facial recognition and can't tell who you are. The person is just somewhere in his field of vision.

The engine inside the base runs perfectlyquiet and designed for “the entire life of the device”. The company also states that Show 10 was built with “sustainable materials,” which include recycled materials, including 30% recycled plastic. It is also one of the first devices to receive its own Amazon Climate Pledge Friendly badge.

Amazon rates the new Echo Show 10 at $ 249.99.which is slightly higher than the previous stationary model, which cost $ 230. Starting today, you will be able to pre-order Show 10 in white or black, with shipments expected by the end of November.

Echo Show and Netflix Videos

Amazon Echo Show smart speaker fans willexcited to hear that the company is finally adding Netflix capabilities to the device. While Echo Show users used to be able to watch networks like Hulu and Prime Video, the lack of a popular Netflix service could have frustrated moviegoers. Now, with the new Echo Show 10, this problem has been solved.

According to Amazon, you canuse your voice to search and launch Netflix shows or movies on the 10-inch Echo Show screen. And if you're cleaning the house, cooking or doing something while playing Netflix videos, the Echo Show 10's motorized screen uses computer vision and echolocation technology to move behind you.

New cloud gaming service Luna

Amazon has announced a cloud gaming platform fornamed Luna. The news is not too surprising: Since last year, there have been rumors of a service formerly codenamed Tempo, while an Amazon-made game controller was leaked right ahead of yesterday's event.

It is unclear when Luna will launch widely, butIt will initially be available on PC, Mac, Fire TV, iPhone and iPad (via web apps), with an Android version slated for post-launch. Amazon says interested US users can request early access to the service starting today. There is not a word about international accessibility.

The service will be available for an "entry price" of $ 5.99per month during Early Access, which gives subscribers the ability to play Luna Plus games on two devices simultaneously and offers 4K / 60 frames per second for “Featured Games”. Naturally, it will run on AWS, Amazon's widespread web platform.

Amazon says that through the Luna Plus channel there will beThere are more than 100 games available, and among them are Resident Evil 7, Control, Panzer Dragoon, A Plague Tale: Innocence, The Surge 2, Yooka-Laylee, GRID, Abzu and Brothers. Amazon says more games will be added "over time."

Ring launches drone for home security

Ring's latest security camera is a drone that flies inside your home. Always Home Cam is an ambitious new home security device.

New Always Home Cam is Standalonea drone that can fly inside your home so you can see any room in the house when you are not there. After the flight, Always Home Cam returns to the dock to charge the battery. It is expected to be priced at $ 249.99 when the company starts shipping next year.

Jamie Siminoff, Founder and Chiefinventor Ring, says the idea behind the Always Home Cam is to provide multiple vantage points throughout the home without requiring multiple cameras. In an interview prior to the announcement of the new product, he said that the company has spent the past two years on purposeful development of the device, and that it is "obviously the right product that is very difficult to create." Thanks to advances in drone technology, the company is able to create and deliver such technology.

Always Home Cam is completely autonomous, but the ownerscan tell her which way she can go and where to go. After receiving the device, you create a map of your house that the drone will follow. This allows you to ask him for specific points of view, such as the kitchen or bedroom. The drone can be commanded to fly on demand, or programmed to fly when it detects interference with the associated alarm system.

The charging dock blocks the camera's view, and the camera only records video during flight. The drone makes an audible noise during flight, so it is noticeable during recording.

The camera can be used for simple tasks, for example, to check if the stove is left on or a window is open, the door is locked when you are away from home. It also features obstacle avoidance technology that allows it to avoid colliding with objects in its path, and its enclosed propellers prevent damage to property or harm to a pet or person that might collide with the drone.

This is by far Ring's most ambitious product.and it will be very interesting to see if it actually works as stated. However, users will have to wait until next year to check this out.

Ring end-to-end encryption

Ring announced that it will soon offer the opportunityenable end-to-end encryption for video streams from your smart doorbells and connected home security cameras. This new and higher level of security will be an additional feature and build on existing Ring encryption features. The company says it will be available free of charge to all Ring customers, and the feature will be available before the end of this year.

If end-to-end encryption is enabled, video footagewill be encrypted on the camera and can only be decrypted using the key stored on the mobile device used to view the recording.

In addition to Ring's stronger encryptionis also updating its mobile app with more information about how videos are encrypted or stored. But more importantly, the company is finally allowing Ring owners to completely disable the Neighbors feed from the app. The Neighbors feed is a place where Ring owners can share clips captured by their cameras and is ostensibly intended to alert others to possible crimes or emergencies in their areas. But it has long been criticized for scaring people, and its effectiveness in reducing crime has never been proven.

Amazon AZ1 Neural Edge Processor and Alexa Acceleration

The Amazon AZ1 Neural Edge processor will make Alexa voice commands even faster.

Amazon unveils AZ1 Neural Edge processora silicon module that will speed up Alexa's ability to respond to requests and commands by hundreds of milliseconds. The company has created this module with MediaTek, and it will enable on-device neural speech recognition for new products.

AZ1 will also be integrated into other Echo products in the future.

This is a partnership between Amazon and MediaTekresembles Microsoft's partnership with Qualcomm over the SQ1 processor for the Surface Pro X, at least in terms of co-development of large companies with chip makers. In practice, the AZ1 is more like Google's neural core found in the Pixel 4. This special chip not only helps improve photography, but also allows the device to understand spoken English to the point where it can transcribe recordings in real time without an internet connection.

Latest Alexa updates

The latest updates to Alexa help her listen to multiple people and ask follow-up questions. Her tone will also change depending on the conversation.

Amazon says voice assistantit will be better to answer several people, and that in other cases she will be smarter at asking and remembering the answers to follow-up questions. Alexa is also being updated to change its tone while participating in a conversation.
