One of the US Air National Guard air bases will receive two additional F-15EX fighters

The amendment was proposed by a member of the House of RepresentativesJohn James, Republican from Michigan. It will increase upfront funding by $30.6 million, enough to order an additional two aircraft.

F-15EX Eagle II is an improved versionF-15 Eagle fighter. The upgraded aircraft received new avionics and electronic warfare systems. Now the US Air Force has only two fighters. Another six units were due to arrive in December last year, but deliveries are being delayed due to production problems at Beoing.

A pair of fighters will be ordered for the air force baseThe National Guard, which does not have aircraft to replace the A-10 Thunderbolt II. Legendary stormtroopers will be decommissioned by the end of this decade. One of the contenders is the base "Selfridge" (Selfridge), Michigan. The 127th Wing is based here.
In total, $92 million appeared in the NDAA,which will allow the US Air Force to purchase an additional six F-15EX Eagle II fighters in 2025. The total cost of purchasing aircraft in 2024 will reach $350 million.

Thus, in 2025, the US Air Force will buy32 modernized F-15EX fighters. The total volume of purchases will increase from 104 to 112 aircraft. With 48 F-35 Lightning IIs in 2025, the service will order 80 fighters, which is eight units above the established recommended threshold.
