Design and display
OnePlus 8T builds on the design of itspredecessor, but at the same time it has been modified to perfection. You get an almost frameless display with the same small “punch hole” for the selfie camera in the top left corner. In previous products, the company has focused on a matte finish, but this time OnePlus has opted for a glossy finish. But don't worry. This coating uses diffuse reflection, a form of light refraction that scatters light at different angles and directions to create a clean, shiny surface that can reduce fingerprints. Available in two colors: Aquamarine Green and Lunar Silver.
Returning to the front of the OnePlus 8T, weshould note the flat 6.55-inch flexible FHD + AMOLED 2.5D display with a 120Hz refresh rate. There's quite a bit of information here in one sentence, so let's clarify. The big news is that OnePlus has gone from curved to flat panel. The company says it is "the first 120Hz flat panel display ever to receive an A + rating from DisplayMate."
This rating is not surprising given the ratingsdisplays of the last two generations of OnePlus phones. The OnePlus 8T display, like its predecessor, has received Pixelworks processing. It includes custom factory color calibration, DC dimming to reduce flicker at low brightness, adaptive color temperature control, and realistic skin tones for all content featuring real people.
According to information from OnePlus, this panel with2400 x 1080 pixel resolution can reach a maximum brightness of 1100 nits and has 8192 brightness levels for smooth transitions between different brightness settings. Filling
OnePlus 8T is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset865 5G paired with Snapdragon X55 5G RF modem system. The OnePlus 8T will be available with 8 or 12 GB of RAM, and you will also be offered 128 or 256 GB of internal storage.
The phone has a hefty batterycapacity of 4500 mAh, which is actually two modules connected in series with a capacity of 2250 mAh. This allows two separate modules to be charged at the same time, resulting in very fast charging.
The OnePlus 8T supports 65W charging and a full charge takes just 39 minutes.
OnePlus uses the most advanced charging solution in the new device — Warp Charge 65 (65W fast charging technology), which provides a full charge in just 39 minutes.
Oddly enough, OnePlus 8T does not support wireless charging — a feature that OnePlus announced with great enthusiasm earlier this year on the OnePlus 8 Pro.
OS
The first non-Google phone to ship with Android 11!
OnePlus 8T comes equipped with OxygenOS 11 out of the box (onAndroid 11) with optimized animations and gestures, as well as numerous settings such as 11 new Always On Display watch settings, improved one-handed gesture controls and Zen mode. 2.0.
OnePlus also mentioned some interestingnew AOD renderings, so while your phone sleeps, you'll now be able to see some artistic imagery or a few functional features such as an always-on display that shows how often you pick up your phone throughout the day.
Camera
Wide and ultra wide-angle camera, but no telephoto lens
The back of the OnePlus 8T has a system withfour cameras, which consists of a 48 MP main camera with optical image stabilization, a 16 MP ultra wide-angle lens and special macro and monochrome lenses. It's an interesting choice, OnePlus offers an odd mix taken from the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro's camera systems. Gone is the telephoto lens from the 8 Pro, but there is a macro lens (this time 5 megapixels, focal length 3 cm), as well as a monochrome sensor.
There is an improved Nightscape mode with improvedAI algorithms, as well as a new Video Portrait mode, which allows you to create clips with a natural bokeh effect. The OnePlus 8T can record 4K video at 60fps and has a super slow motion mode: 720p video at 480fps, 1080p video at 240fps. Selfie camera — 16-megapixel with fixed focus and f/2.4 aperture.

The OnePlus 8T will be available for purchase through OnePlus.com on Oct 23 at 11:00 am ET for $ 749 US. You will also be able to purchase the OnePlus 8T on Amazon in the US, while T-Mobile will offer the phone under the slightly different name OnePlus 8T + 5G.
Speaking of 5G connectivity, the phone willsupport all 5G bands used in the United States, with the exception of mmWave, which Verizon Wireless and AT&T are still widely introducing. This makes it best suited for T-Mobile users in the US, and if you use the OnePlus 8T with Verizon or AT&T, you'll mostly get LTE speeds.
Although there is only one model sold in the US (with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage), international buyers can choose between two very competitively priced versions:
