Shows the preparation of US nuclear missiles for launch

A video filmed at the US Air Force Base Barksdale in Louisiana was published online. They were studying there

preparing nuclear missiles for launch - hanging them on B-52 bombers.

We are talking about AGM-86B cruise missiles with nuclearwarhead W80-1. In the video you can see the thermonuclear charge itself with adjustable power. This is a small silver pear-shaped container. W80-1 is transported on platforms with metal clamps. Nuclear warheads are placed on missiles after the latter are placed in launchers.

The exercise reportedly took place on September 1, 2020, at the 11th Bomb Squadron, 2nd Bomb Wing, US Air Force Global Strike Command.

Rossiyskaya Gazeta notes that the AGM-86B has a flight range of 2,400 kilometers.
