Watch the Crew Dragon return to Earth

The SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule, which will return NASA astronauts to Earth, will undock from the International

space station (ISS).As the researchers reported, this will happen on August 2, at 2:34 Moscow time. Its journey to Earth will take 19 hours. If everything goes according to plan, the capsule will fall into the Atlantic Ocean at 21:42 Moscow time.

Researchers worry that eastwardhurricane Isaias is approaching the coast of Florida. This element will bring with it gusts of strong wind and precipitation, they can rage in the same area where the Crew Dragon capsule should splash down. NASA is monitoring the weather and may change its decision to return the spacecraft. The final decision will be made three hours before undocking.

Earlier, SpaceX launched the first ship withastronauts to the ISS. If the launch is considered successful, it will allow the United States to send its missions without the help of Roscosmos. SpaceX is now the first privately held company to fly manned. The launch was successful the second time - on May 27, SpaceX postponed the flight due to bad weather.

On launch day, NASA also stated thatflight probability - 50%, bad weather could interfere with it. Nevertheless, the launch took place - Douglas Hurley and Robert Behnken spent 19 hours in space before docking to the ISS. SpaceX has already reported that the launch vehicle that launched the astronauts into space has returned to Earth.
