See the closest shots of the Sun's surface

According to the researchers, the new optics of the GREGOR telescope will allow them to study magnetic fields in detail,

convection, turbulence, solar flares and sunspots.

It was very exciting, but at the same time it is an extremely complex project. In just one year, we have completely redesigned the optics, mechanics and electronics to achieve the best image quality.

Work has been done to minimizethe impact of extreme events on the Sun on humans, the operation of ground-based instruments and satellites in orbit, scientists must predict the places of their appearance and power as accurately as possible, and this requires means of detailed observation of the Sun's surface and its magnetic fields.

The new upgraded telescope can distinguishon the surface of the Sun, details up to 50 km in size with a star diameter of 1.4 million km. For comparison, it is like seeing the point of a needle on a football field from a distance of 1 km.
