The first critical reviews of the Netflix prequel series The Witcher: Blood Origin appeared on the thematic portals.

Known
As expected by fans of the universe TheWitcher, nothing good came of this idea. Reviewers note that The Witcher: Blood Origin has a weak and crumpled plot, and the technical execution cannot be compared with modern fantasy series.
Hardly a viewer unfamiliar with Andrzej's franchiseSapkowski (Andrzej Sapkowski) will understand what the series is about. The theme of the Conjunction of the Spheres and the creation of the first witchers was not disclosed.
Initially, 6 episodes of The Witcher were planned:Blood Origin, but the authors had to squeeze them down to four, so the story turned out to be abrupt and not very informative for the audience. The story proved to be too long for a four-episode series.
It can be seen that part of the dialogues is re-voiced, and part of the story is given in voice-over.
Many critics were surprised by inappropriate references to modern media projects, in particular, to the Terminator (!).
Of the positive aspects, experts highlight interesting characters, who, however, do not have time to reveal themselves due to the short running time. Spectacular battles and beautiful panoramas are celebrated.
Unfortunately, the opinion of critics agrees that the author of Gamesradar is right: “… the series represents wasted talent and potential.”
