The center will be opened with the support of the AmericanLockheed Martin. Romania's Supreme National Defense Council said in a statement that Romanian pilots will be trained here, after which the center will be available to pilots from NATO and partner countries, including Ukraine.

Romania still does not have F-16 fighters, but theyarrival in the country is only a matter of time. Bucharest has been preparing to buy American aircraft for several years, and last year the US allowed Norway to sell F-16s.

Romania will pay approximately $425 million for 32F-16 fighter jet of the Royal Norwegian Air Force. In addition, the United States recently approved the supply of hardware and software in the amount of $105 million for aircraft modernization.
