The largest Boeing 777X airliner will pass certification in a year

Development of the Boeing 777X began in 2010 - in the future it will become the world's largest twin-engine airliner.

Maximum take-off weight of the aircraftThe device weighs 351.5 tons, it can carry from 349 to 414 passengers depending on the dimensions - B777-8X, B777-9X and B777-9XL. The aircraft will be able to fly over a distance of up to 16.1 thousand km.

The liner length will be from 69.8 to 76.7 m, andthe wing span made of composite materials is 71.8 m. Thanks to the Boeing 777 folding wing, all aircraft of this family will be able to fit in a regular aviation hangar despite its impressive dimensions. When folded, the wingspan will be 64.8 m.

Now the Boeing 777-9X has passed four testflight, and over the next quarter three more Boeing 777X aircraft with serial numbers WH002, WH003 and WH004 will join the flight program. In the following flight models, engineers test automatic landing systems, near-ground control, external power systems, auxiliary power plant technologies, on-board electronic equipment, and engines. Also, the aircraft will be tested by various flight loads.

In addition, using a flight model, scientists will analyze the amount of emissions of new airliners, which, according to the description of the aircraft, should be 10% lower than similar aircraft.

In case of successful testing, the company intends to obtain a certificate for the Boeing 777X by the end of 2020.
