John Prosser, who is sometimes accuratewith details of Apple's plans, said today that Apple will be holding an event to celebrate the launch of the new iPhone in the week of October 12, with pre-orders coming later that week, with shipments starting a week after the presentation.
If this information turns out to be accurate, it is quiteit is likely that Apple could host an event on Tuesday October 13th, start taking pre-orders for new iPhone 12 models from October 16th, and start shipping new devices starting October 23rd.
There have been many rumors suggesting the possibilitya phased release, where some models of the new iPhone are released earlier than others, which Prosser says is. While the iPhone 12 models will go on sale in October, Prosser claims the iPhone 12 Pro version won't be available until November.
Prosser also claims that Apple will release the Apple Watch Series 6 and a new iPad via a press release during the week of September 7. It would be unusual for Apple to present the Apple Watch in front of new iPhones.
Prosser says that this information is "insystem ”, but the shifted release date and“ uncertainty of final dates for Pro models ”means the dates may“ slip away / change ”. Prosser said last month that the iPhone 12 and new iPads will launch in October.
Although Prosser has correctly predicted in the pastsome of Apple's launch plans, he also sometimes shares incorrect information.
