The first laptop to support the M1 was the new MacBook Air. Apple estimates the new device is faster than 98% of Windows laptops sold in the past year.
The CPU in the M1 consists of fourhigh performance and four high performance cores. They provide performance with minimal energy consumption. Apple says they work the same as the dual-core chips in Intel's MacBook Air, but use less electricity.
Graphics in M1 will work equally well aswith both basic tasks and professional workloads, the company said. This allows you to watch multiple videos in 4K resolution at once on the M1 or render complex 3D scenes. The GPU delivers 2.6 teraflops of power, which Apple calls the world's best for integrated graphics in a PC.
Apple also noted that the potential for newprocessors are fully disclosed by macOS Big Sur - a new version of the system, developed with an eye to the company's own chips. Its public launch is scheduled for November 12.
MacBook Air 2020
The MacBook Air on the M1 will have 3.5x faster performance and 5x faster graphics. The laptop will be able to work without recharging up to 18 hours, and they promise that "silent".
The new 13-inch MacBook Air is 3.5 times fasterthe previous model, introduced in March, and is more powerful than 98% of all laptops sold this year, Apple says. There is no fan because the new chip does not require active cooling. You can use the browser on the new Air for 15 hours on a single battery charge, and watch videos for 18 hours.
The new Air has two USB 4 connectors with supportThunderbolt, Wi-Fi 6 and TouchID fingerprint unlocking. The device is now also equipped with an SSD up to 2 TB. However, the built-in memory will be up to two times faster than the Intel-based model, thanks to the memory controller in the new M1 chip.
In the USA - from 999 dollars, in Russia - 99,990 rubles (256 GB of memory) and 124,990 rubles (512 GB).
Macbook pro
Introduced 13-inch MacBook Pro workson the same M1 processor and 2.8 times faster than its predecessor. The new laptop performs graphics operations five times faster, says Apple. Unlike the Air, the new MacBook Pro has a ventilation system that allows the processor to run even faster.
It works on a single charge for up to 17 hours when surfing the net and up to 20 hours when watching videos. The device received up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 2 TB of built-in memory.
In Russia, the price for a laptop will start at 129,990 rubles.
Mac mini 2020
Along with the new Apple laptops they showedupdated mini-computer Mac mini. According to the company, the most popular computers in the same price segment are 10 times larger and 5 times slower than the updated Mac mini.
As noted by Apple, thanks to the M1, the Mac mini is comparable to top-end desktop solutions and offers 5x the average performance while being 10x smaller than the competing PCs.
The computer is equipped with Thinking USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 4 support and an Apple Pro Display XDR.
With the upgrade to the new Mac mini processor alsoreceived a new design for heat dissipation. Now it remains "quiet and cool", and also supports video output to two displays Apple Pro Display XDR in 6K-resolution, and has built-in Wi-Fi 6.
Mac mini in Russia will cost from 74,990 rubles, like the previous model.
