Global regulatory commissions continue to review the potential implications of the deal between Microsoft and

Activision Blizzard.

After the UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) blocked the merger last month, American corporations are pinning high hopes on the decision of the EU commission.

What is known

According to Reuters, on May 15, EU regulators will make their decision, and most likely it will be in favor of Microsoft and Activision Blizzard.

It is reported that European regulators have acceptedattention to the arguments of the teams of Phil Spencer and Bobby Kotick. One of the main arguments of the Americans was the conclusion of long-term agreements with Nintendo, Valve and a number of cloud services, thanks to which Microsoft games, and subsequently Activision Blizzard, will become available to the maximum number of gamers. This circumstance mitigates regulators’ concerns about Microsoft’s monopoly in the gaming market; of course, this primarily concerns the Call of Duty series of games.

The European Union is obliged to announce its decision by May 22.
