Glass bottles have harmed nature more than plastic

Scientists from the University of Southampton have discovered which drink bottles are more harmful to the environment.

As it turns out, glass ones can be even more dangerous than plastic ones.

For the study, scientists compared five differenttypes of beverage containers. They applied pressure to each one. The researchers then looked at the level of pollution generated by bottle production, use and disposal.

As a result, the most harmful to nature were recognizedglass bottles. They contribute to global warming much more than plastic packaging and aluminum cans. The production of glass containers requires more resources and energy, and a lot of carbon dioxide is emitted during the production.

In second place in the anti-rating are bottles made of recycled glass. On the third - plastic packaging, on the fourth - aluminum cans, on the fifth - cans from recycled raw materials.
