The fighter was previously known as the TF-X. A few days ago, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan officially announced that the fifth generation aircraft will be called KAAN.
In March 2021, information appeared that the fighter would cost $100 million. This was stated by the head of TAI during an interview on Turkish television.

This week, Temel Kotil reported that the costaircraft may be "slightly higher". TAI General Director did not disclose additional details and reasons for the price change. But he noted that by 2028, the Turkish Air Force will receive 20 Block 20 fighters.
KAAN will make its first flight in 2026.By 2029, TAI plans to produce two aircraft per month. The fifth-generation fighter is expected to generate revenue of $2.4 billion a year during this period.
