how the United States recalculated the assistance already provided.

What is known

The US Department of Defense has released $6.2 billion for Ukraine, Deputy Pentagon Press Secretary Sabrina Singh said.

As it became known from the results of the audit, the United States overestimated military assistance to Ukraine by $6.2 billion. The reason was that old equipment and ammunition were valued at the prices of 2022-2023 financial years (FY).

In FY2022, an error occurred when calculating military aidamounted to $2.6 billion. In FY2023, it reached $3.6 billion. Sabrina Singh stressed that by the end of FY2023 (September 30, 2023 calendar year), the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive weapons under the fastest support program, which involves supply from the Pentagon's stocks.
