Tweak “DarkMessages” turns on dark mode in the iOS 10 Messages app [Jailbreak]

That did not happen. “Dark mode” appears to have been introduced thanks to the popular Eclipse tweak, which works on jailbroken devices.

A new tweak called DarkMessages that ports a small piece of Eclipse code to iOS 10. This jailbreak tweak enables dark mode in the SMS and messaging app in iOS 10's iMessage.

This tweak translates the entire standard interfaceThe Messages app features dark gray tones to help reduce eye strain when using the Messages app at night. Personally, I’m starting to like this mode more and more than the traditional light interface.

The tweak changes almost all elements of the Messages app interface to a dark color, including the search bar, message field, bubbles around the message text and, surprisingly, even the keyboard.

After installing the "DarkMessages" tweak, it willactivated by default. If at some point you want to switch to a light interface, you can turn off the tweak action in your own settings panel in the Settings application.

The "DarkMessages" tweak works fine asadvertised and well worth trying. For my taste, the dark theme looks more stylish and does not strain the eyes. Perhaps you will like the tweak too.
