Speed test: iOS 10.3 Beta 5 vs iOS 10.2.1

Apple has released the fifth beta version of iOS 10.3 for developers. This could probably be the last one before release.

official version of iOS 10.3 for iPhone and iPad.

iOS 103 comes out on the basis of APFS, Apple’s new proprietary file system that promises to show great progress in speed. In January, a speed test of iOS 10.3 beta 1 against iOS 10.2.1 was carried out, which showed a significantly faster launch and loading of applications in the case of a new file system.

In subsequent beta versions, however, there has beensome recession. According to the latest speed test performed by YouTuber iAppleBytes, iPhone 5s on iOS 10.3 beta 5 loads slower than on iOS 10.2.1. Only iPhone 5 and iPhone 6 showed faster loading in the case of the latest beta version of iOS, while in the case of 6s there was no noticeable change in speed.

The application loading period did not predominantly change during the transition from iOS 10.2.1 to iOS 10.3 beta 5 for all four iPhone devices that passed the test.

Since iOS 10.3 is still under development, it is possible that the final version of this operating system will demonstrate greater progress. However, even if the loading and launching times of applications does not change much with the release, the transition to the APFS file system should help increase the speed of solving basic tasks - copying, pasting and importing files from one application to another.
