T929 ATAK-II built on the basis of the T129 helicopterATAK, based on the Italian Agusta A129 Mangusta by Leonardo Helicopters. TAI began work on a new attack helicopter over three years ago.
The ATAK-II power plant is represented by twoTV3-117VMA-SBM1V-01T engines of Ukrainian production. The power of each is 2500 horsepower. Türkiye will receive 14 engines by 2025. The first were transferred in the spring of this year.
T929 ATAK-II will be equipped with a 30mm cannon andwill receive six suspension points. The maximum payload weight will be 1.5 tons. The attack helicopter will be able to carry MKE FFAR, Hydra 70, CRV7, UMTAS, L-UMTAS, Cirit and AIM-9X Sidewinder missiles.
