German media write that Ukraine sent Germany an official request for the provision of cruise missiles

A spokesman for the German Ministry of Defense confirmedthis information and added that the request was received in the last few days. However, he did not disclose other details, including the number of requested missiles.
Formerly a member of the German opposition partyspoke in favor of transferring long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine. According to him, they will make it possible to “strike at Russian military infrastructure far behind the front line.” The Minister of Defense treated this proposal with caution.
The Taurus is a sort of equivalent to the British Storm Shadow. The cruise missile is launched from a fighter jet and can deliver a 400-kilogram warhead more than 500 kilometers.
