Ukraine will receive even more German IRIS-T systems: additional supply contracts have been signed

Since last fall, the Armed Forces have been using German IRIS-T air defense systems to protect Ukrainian cities.

So far there are only a few of them, but soon Ukraine will receive more anti-aircraft missile systems.

What to expect

The Ambassador of Ukraine to Germany Alexey Makeev saidon Twitter that additional contracts for the supply of these systems have been signed in Überlingen. Unfortunately, he did not provide details, but published a selfie with an IRIS-T air defense system in the background.

“And these installations/launchers/missiles IRIS-T SLM/SLS will soon be in Ukraine,” the ambassador wrote.

The SLS version is a short-range air defense system. The interception range of air threats is up to 12 km, and the maximum altitude is 8 km.
