This means that the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be able tohit enemy targets at twice the distance than with the highly mobile M142 HIMARS systems. They use high-precision GMLRS rockets with a maximum launch range of about 80 km.

Head of the National Defense Associationindustry of Ukraine, Ivan Vinnik confirmed that the Vilha-M multiple launch rocket system is used on the battlefield. However, he did not answer the question in which direction of the front.

In a conversation with journalists of The War Zone Vinniknoted that the modernization program began in 2018. Since then, about 100 rockets for Vilha-M have been fired. They were first used in May 2022. Vinnik added that the appearance of modernized missiles with a launch range of 150 km is expected by the expected date of the counteroffensive in southern Ukraine.

Questions about the possible use of "Vilha-M" againappeared last week, when the temporarily occupied Mariupol was shelled. The city is located about 80 km from the front line. Ivan Vinnik did not talk about which missiles were used for the attack.
