Vulnerability in iOS 8 could Cause iPhone to Reboot Endlessly

Throughout its existence, iOS has not had any errors or vulnerabilities that would allow attacks

iPhone and iPad owners. Found todaynew iOS 8 vulnerability, which can be used by attackers to hack an iPhone located on a Wi-FI network. Read more about this iOS 8 vulnerability below.

DuringSan Francisco RSA Security Conference, organizationSkycureintroduced an iOS vulnerability called “NoiOS Zone“. This iOS 8 vulnerability allows you to crash any iPhone or iPad located in the Wi-Fi zone. Devices are vulnerable whether they are intentionally connected or not.

The vulnerability exploits bugs in iOS 8:namely, by spoofing SSL certificates sent to iOS devices over the network. Security certificates are used in almost all iOS in the firmware itself. The researchers were able to crash the iOS device, in the worst case scenario, sending it into a permanent reboot.

You can simply avoid connecting torandom WiFi access points and your phone will be fine. In the West, security researchers have discovered, iOS devices are programmed to automatically connect to certain wireless networks. For example, AT&T subscribers (using contract iPhones) are automatically connected to a network called “attwifi”. Again, this is done automatically by your iOS device. This can only be prevented by completely disabling Wi-Fi.

The end result is that the teamSkycure can create a special Wi-Fi access point to which the nearest iOS devices will automatically connect, and then send them to reboot. And since the device starts to constantly reboot, you have no way to disconnect from this Wi-Fi network, you can only leave the network distribution space.

OrganizationSkycuredoes not disclose complete information about howperform an attack. However, this suggests that anyone with an iPhone, iPad or iPod is vulnerable. The team is now working with Apple to fix this vulnerability in iOS 8. Try to refrain from connecting to unfamiliar and suspicious WiFi networks.
