60% of apps excluded from the App Store did not have a privacy policy

Pixalate's report entitled “H1 2021 Delisted Mobile Apps Report” shows that over 813,000 apps have been delisted

in the first half of 2021 on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, with more than 86% of these apps targeting children aged 12 and under.

According to the report, which analyzed more than5 million mobile apps in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, these apps had over 21 million consumer reviews in the App Store before being delisted.

The report also shows that of the 89% excludedOf App Store apps aimed at children aged 12 and under, 59% did not have a written privacy policy. More than 60% of apps delisted in China also did not have a written privacy policy.

The report also shows that 83% of applications delisted during this period either did not have a specified address at all (78%), or the address could not be identified (5%).

As for the Google Play Store, everything is hereA little more complicated: 66% of the apps excluded from the list had at least one &#8220;dangerous permission&#8221;. For example, 27% of them had access to GPS coordinates, and 19% could access a camera.
