What is known
Due to the hack, the official website, technical support, call centers, an application for connecting Garmin Connect watches, branded services and even some of the company's production lines stopped working.
According to ZDNet, the failure occurred due toWastedLocker virus, but Garmin has not yet officially confirmed this information. According to the manufacturer, the company experienced a glitch and the problems will be fixed within a few days. However, this is still hard to believe, given the scale of the situation.
This outage also affects our call centers, and weare currently unable to receive any calls, emails or online chats. We are working to resolve this issue as quickly as possible and apologize for this inconvenience. (2/2)

WastedLocker is a ransomware virus thatbelongs to the hacker group Evil Corp. The virus appeared in early 2020. It penetrates the system and then encrypts all its data and demands a ransom in cryptocurrency from the victims to decrypt it.
Let us remind you that Twitter was recently subjected to a hacker attack. Fraudsters asked for bitcoins on behalf of Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Apple and Uber.
