Pros: generally accurate exposure on faces, pleasant skin tones, high detail in bright to normal indoor conditions, noise on in-focus subjects well controlled in bright light, accurate depth estimation in bokeh mode, wide dynamic range in video, accurate white balance, video with high detail in bright light, few artifacts in the video.

But there are also disadvantages:noise visible in the background, random white balance distortion, clipping of high dynamic range scenes for photos, fixed focus leaves more distant objects blurry, low exposure in flash mode, residual motion effects when walking, high noise in video at lower light levels.

“The front camera of the iPhone 12 Pro is worthyattention, although it's not quite in the same class as the best we've tested. Overall, the iPhone 12 Pro has a very capable but not category-defining selfie camera. If we consider it as part of a single whole, the vast majority of users should be satisfied with it,” concluded DxOMark.

Evaluation

As a result, the iPhone 12 Pro has 98 points: 101 for photos and 93 for video.

In the overall DxOMark rating this is only 7th place afterHuawei Mate 40 Pro, Huawei P40 Pro, Asus ZenFone 7 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G, Huawei nova 6 5G and Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ 5G. But compared to the iPhone 11 Pro Max (92 points), the result has improved.
