IDC conducted a survey and found out how many Russians trust electronic wallets.

It follows from the QIWI press release thatthe average user of an electronic wallet in Russia is a young man of 25-44 years old with a monthly income of 20-60 thousand rubles. He uses his wallet to pay bills and online purchases. The average amount of electronic payments is 2.5-5 thousand rubles per month.

42% of users of such wallets prefer them to cash. 86% of respondents said they trust their e-wallet provider and believe their data is secure.

QIWI also learned that most often electronicwallets are used to pay for mobile communications and the Internet (74%), online purchases (64%), utility services (41%), purchases in retail stores (40%), to replenish a credit card (32%).
