The Swedish holding Embracer Group, which includes numerous game studios, announced the start

restructuring.

What is known

As part of the reorganization of the workflow, Embracer Group plans to carry out a number of immediate actions:

  • downsize some of their offices;
  • evaluate the efficiency of the studios;
  • close unprofitable studios;
  • cancel the development of a number of games with a low predicted profitability (at the same time, the names of the studios and games have not yet been named);
  • Embracer Group will scale down its publishing activities, focusing only on games from its studios.

Probably the main reason for such large-scale changes was a sharp collapse (about 40%) in the value of the shares of the Swedish giant.

By the end of the current financial year (until March 31, 2024), it is planned to complete the reorganization of the Embracer Group.

For those who are not in the know

The Embracer Group currently has over 850 franchises, 138 game studios worldwide and 221 games in development.
