Experts from the marketing and consulting company Grand View Research predict growth in the global market volume
According to the company's forecast based ondata until 2021, the cumulative annual growth rate of the autonomous mobile robots (AMR) market will be 15.5%, and the automatically guided carts (AGV) - 9.7%. At the same time, by the end of the decade, the AMR market will surpass the less functional automatic carts in volume.

AMR is an autonomous vehiclewhich is equipped with complex systems of cameras, sensors, and optical radars. Such robots use natural navigation: the device studies the space around it, remembers its location and dynamically plans a path from one waypoint to another.
Automated trolleys, which have long beenused in industry are less flexible than robots. They move on pre-laid magnetic and color stripes built into the cable sheath. If an obstacle is detected on the way, such a device will stop and wait for a solution to the problem, and the robot will simply rebuild its route.
Experts say that the COVID-19 pandemic has causedsevere labor shortages and disruption to supply chains and logistics operations due to restrictions. This factor had an impact on the market for robotic devices: the introduction of automated systems allowed enterprises to continue working during the lockdown.
