Looking at the news that top brands are increasingly adopting large camera sensors close to 1″, you can
decide that the era of the megapixel race is coming toend. But this would be a big mistake. According to a source at Digital Chat Station, starting this fall we will see a new wave of flagships with ultra-high resolution cameras. We are talking about devices on the future Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 top-chip, in which 100-megapixel and 200-megapixel sensors will be massively used. However, companies are unlikely to abandon the 1″ Sony IMX989 sensor or similar analogues when it comes to top camera phones like the Vivo X100 Pro + or Xiaomi 14 Ultra (if one is planned). Still, marketing is marketing, and you can’t deceive physics: large pixels are the key to a cool camera.
