Looking at the news that top brands are increasingly introducing large camera sensors close to 1″
decide that the era of the megapixel race is comingend. But this would be a big mistake. According to informant Digital Chat Station, starting in the fall we will see a new wave of flagships with ultra-high-resolution cameras. We are talking about devices based on the future top chip Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, in which 100-megapixel and 200-megapixel sensors will be widely used. However, companies are unlikely to give up 1″ Sony IMX989 sensor or analogues close to it, when it comes to top-end camera phones like Vivo X100 Pro+ or Xiaomi 14 Ultra (if one is planned). Still, marketing is marketing, but you can’t fool physics: large pixels are the key to a cool camera.
