Virgin Galactic has resumed selling tickets for its flights to the “edge of space” at an increased cost.
Until August, applications for space flights cost$250,000, which against the background of the new tariff looks like a “bargain”. In total, about 700 people, including Elon Musk, reserved seats on Virgin Galactic flights.
The company hopes to sell 1,000 tickets before the startcommercial flights, which it recently (once again) postponed until the fourth quarter of 2022. Virgin Galactic is only allowing ticket purchases for customers who have paid a $1,000 deposit. The company plans to ensure that more people can book a spot by early 2022.
Unity 23, next Virgin Galactic flight, notwill take off until at least mid-2022. It will carry three passengers from the Italian Air Force, who will study the effects of microgravity.
