A 12-year-old girl from London has sued the popular TikTok service, accusing it of violating the protection law.
On behalf of the girl, the case was referred to the court by the Commissioner forJuvenile Affairs Anne Longfield. She explained that the anonymity was necessary to protect the girl from online threats on the TikTok app and backlash in the media.
The child claims her privacy rights were violated on TikTok. The girl demands legal protection.
Recall that the owner of TikTok is the Chinese company ByteDance. Last year, the US government tried to get ByteDance to sell the US division of TikTok to a US company.
