18 new HIMARS missile systems for Ukraine will receive an automated fire control system IFATDS

The United States will in the future send M142 HIMARS artillery missile systems to Ukraine along with

new automated fire control system.

What is known

The United States intends to purchase 18 systemsfire control called the International Field Artillery Tactical Data System (IFATDS). They are used to form an overall picture of fire support based on information from various sources.

In addition to Ukraine, the US will supply IFATDS systems to Latvia and Taiwan. A European country will receive 55 sets at once. 16 sets will go to Taiwan.

Ukraine will receive new highly mobileartillery rocket systems M142 HIMARS, and not from the Pentagon's stocks. They will be manufactured as part of the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI). This was announced in September.
