25% more expensive: new channels have been added to YouTube TV subscription

YouTube raised the price of a YouTube TV subscription by $ 10 per month and added new channels.

said it was raising prices to provide"best service" to customers. The company is adding eight channels owned by Discovery (DISCA), including the Discovery Channel of the same name, HGTV, Food Network, TLC and Animal Planet. This year they also plan to add OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Channel.

This is the second price increase on YouTube TV sincesince its launch in 2017. Prices started at $34.99 per month and increased to $39.99 in March 2018. Currently, the subscription costs $49.99 per month, and the total number of channels is more than 70.

YouTube believes that this way it can better compete with services such as Sling TV (Dish Network), DirecTV Now (AT&T) and Hulu.
