2K Games announced XCOM: Chimera Squad: gameplay, system requirements and release date

2K Games suddenly introduced XCOM: Chimera Squad, which will be released on April 24 on PC via Steam.

XCOM Actions:

Chimera Squad takes place five years afterevents of the second game in the city of City 31. The evil alien government was overthrown, and people began to live peacefully with the aliens. Gamers will control the Chimera Squad, consisting of earthlings and inhabitants of other planets, including previously hostile species. The fighters' task is to protect the city from crime.

As in previous games in the series, gamers will receivetheir own base, where the squad will be controlled and sent on missions. Each battle will begin with a “Breakthrough” phase, in which the commander can select operatives and their landing points. As a result, a choice appears - to start the battle with an attack or take a defensive position. In addition, some breakthrough points are only accessible to certain soldiers.

The battles themselves take place in the same turn-based mode.but the developers changed a couple of conditions. Now fighters and enemies attack alternately, which will have to be taken into account when choosing a target. Secondly, the death of one of the squad members is counted as a mission failure.

On the city map, players will be able to select missionswhich will not always bring material rewards. Some tasks will reduce the level of disorder in certain areas and City 31 as a whole. Once the city plunges into chaos, the campaign will fail.

XCOM: Chimera Squad will be released on April 24, and the developers have already launched pre-orders on Steam, where they are selling the game at a 50% discount - for 449 UAH (instead of 899 UAH).
