3.8 billion rubles: Sberbank issued a loan for the development of the domestic OS Astra Linux

per annum for a total amount of 3.8 billion rubles fordevelopment, implementation and adaptation to the requirements of customers of the domestic Astra Linux operating system, Vedomosti told Vedomosti with reference to a representative of Astra and the Ministry of Digital Development. Discuss

The loan was issued under a government-launchedconcessional lending program. According to the publication, Sberbank will act as an authorized operator. The company is obliged to repay the loan by December 31, 2026, an Astra representative said.

According to him, the money will go to the “development of itsoperating system, its implementation and adaptation to customer requirements”. At the same time, part of this money will be directed to “import substitution of the IT infrastructure of customers and solving problems that arise in the process of switching to Astra products from software from other vendors.”

Ilya Sivtsev, CEO of Astra,told the publication that in order to implement this project, the company plans to create regional centers of excellence, expand the staff of vendors, and also increase the staff of technical support and implementation specialists.

The Ministry of Digital Development clarified that 64 billion rubles have already been issued under the above-mentioned preferential lending program over three years. However, Astra's loan is the largest for developers.
