343 Industreis will continue to develop Halo and will use the Unreal Engine in future projects

Halo series developer 343 Industries has lost at least 95 people due to mass layoffs of Microsoft personnel

and it became known that the studio is switching from its own Slipspace engine to Epic Games' Unreal Engine, as reported by Bloomberg.

The future of Halo and 343 Indistries hangs in the balancea hair's breadth amid mass layoffs in companies on January 18. The latest game in the Halo Ifinite series, although it started “more or less” ok, but over time, users began to get annoyed by the progress in the multiplayer game and the delays in planned functions, like the online company Forge.

Pierre Hintze, Head 343Indusrtries tweeted on January 21st that “343 Industries will continue to develop Halo now and in the future including epic stories, multiplayer and much more that makes the game great”. For his part, Matt Booty, who heads Xbox Games Studios, confirmed this, saying that 343 Industries will continue to develop Halo and “be the home for the game.”

It is not entirely clear what the studio's role will be in future projects, so we will wait for new messages from developers or Microsoft executives about this.
