62% of Russians surveyed do not want to be vaccinated against coronavirus

According to a new poll by VTsIOM, 97% of Russians have heard about vaccination against coronavirus. The best thing

Residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg (68%) and cities with a population of 500–950 thousand residents are aware of vaccination.

Among them, 38% are going to get vaccinated: more often aged 60+ - representatives of the group most vulnerable to the virus (49%), as well as Russians aged 45 to 59 years (44%). But 70% of Russians aged 25-34 years old are not going to get vaccinated. 

Reasons why respondents do not want to be vaccinated:

  • due to poor study of the vaccine (23%),
  • mistrust and fear of vaccination (16%),
  • the presence of contraindications (13%),
  • just do not want to get vaccinated (11%),
  • do not believe in the effectiveness of the vaccine (9%). 

The majority of respondents (84%) who plan to get vaccinated prefer the domestic vaccine. Another 7% want to be vaccinated with a foreign vaccine.
