A center for providing citizens with medicines to appear in Russia

The new federal center will purchase medicines within the framework of federal programs, in particular

drugs for the treatment of patients with orphan and oncological diseases, HIV and tuberculosis, as well as vaccines included in the national vaccination calendar.

Its employees will also monitor the procurement procedure for medicines and make forecasts regarding the regions' needs for specific medicines.

This, according to officials, will help prevent interruptions in the supply of drugs, and will also allow the formation of the necessary reserve.

The founder is the Ministry of Health. The agency was instructed to register a new center within a month and approve its charter.
