A device has been developed that allows you to hold objects without touching them

Information has appeared online about a new invention by scientists from the University of Zurich that allows you to hold

objects without any touching them.

As the technology that formed the basis“Invader”, ultrasound was used. According to engineers, a revised version of their invention will be able to allow robots to manipulate various objects at the most delicate level. So, thanks to a whole array of miniature speakers emitting sound at very carefully controlled frequencies and volumes, a “pressure wave” is created that holds the object and also, if necessary, moves it.

Interestingly, the so-called “acoustic levitation” technique is not so new, but despite this, researchers until the last could not put it into practice.
