A magnetic storm is about to hit Earth

Over the past week, increased activity has been observed on the Sun. At the same time, it usually grows on the Earth

probability of a geomagnetic storm. This is quite dangerous for infrastructure and communications in orbit and on the surface of the planet. However, last week the Earth was a little lucky; it did not find itself “in the line of fire.”

Several CMEs orcoronal mass ejections (CME, Coronal mass ejections). Let us recall that this is the ejection of a large plasma cloud from the solar corona (the outer atmosphere of the Sun) or the explosion into space of billions of tons of particles moving at a speed of millions of kilometers per hour.

However, this does not pose a significant threat to the Earth:the upcoming geomagnetic storm is class G1. This is the weakest level. Therefore, the risk to infrastructure and communications is very low. However, bright northern lights are expected to appear.
