A neural network has appeared that prevents company employees from stealing customer data

Most modern corporate information protection tools block attempts to take screenshots or

download important data. To bypass controls, scammers use photographs of the monitor. The Russian company Stakhanovets has trained a neural network to combat such data thefts.

According to InfoWatch, in recent yearsthe share of internal data leaks caused by intentional actions of employees has grown significantly. Companies build in various means of protection, and this helps to avoid accidental dissemination of information, but the share of deliberate actions of personnel already exceeds 50% of all internal leaks.

The Stakhanovets company notes that about 10%data published on the dark web are photographs of monitor screens taken using an external device. To protect companies from losing sensitive information, programmers have developed the AntiPhoto service. The trained neural network uses the device's webcam to monitor what's going on in the office and prevent leaks.

The program monitors and stops actionsattackers trying to steal sensitive data. To do this, it monitors both program manipulations and the actions of employees in the office. Having detected suspicious behavior, the system immediately hides important information, locks the computer and notifies the company's security service.

The developers report that the program controlsconstant webcam activity. If an employee tries to disable and close it, the system immediately blocks the computer. The same thing happens when you try to take a photo of the screen.

Violators photographing valuable documentscannot be traced with standard DLP systems. The use of conventional video surveillance does not make it possible to stop the theft and provide reliable evidence of the insider's guilt.

The developers report that the new solution is already being used in metallurgical companies, a petrochemical holding, in the field of mining, government agencies and the financial sector.
