A student from Russia took third place in the ACM SIGMOD 2022 database competition

The work of a bachelor's degree graduate from Innopolis University is devoted to the concept of metrics and measurements, which

used in software development.

Metrics help evaluate the quality of a product, and, hence improve it. But there is a risk of choosing the wrong metrics or taking too much from the existing quantity. Recommender systems based on the GQM model solve these problems: they quickly and accurately select the optimal solution for any problem, including recommendations for metrics. The GQM model of all leaves only the options that correspond to the original goal. The scientific community has already used these two concepts together to solve software development problems, but the combination has never been used to recommend metrics to software developers. My research filled this gap.

ACM SIGMOD 2022 Student Research CompetitionThis year the competition took place in a mixed format. Participants first submitted short research articles and then presented their presentations and posters.

Winning and participating in this competition, according to the participants, helps them enroll in a master's program and look for a job.
